Earlier this blog I had shared some well documented know
how about the Noodle....titled,"Noodle the Staple Food for the Asian". Now
here's my list of some of the most popular and amazing noodles dishes that one
should try to taste. And i am sure you would agree with me on this
one.
Here's my list. ENJOY....
1.Yaki Udon
This dish is so simple yet so flavorful - Japanese udon noodles stir fried in butter and soy sauce and topped with chopped scallions, shredded nori and bonito flakes. A top choice for bar food in Tokyo, pair these thick and chewy noodles with a cold beer for the full izakaya experience.
2. Malaysian Chicken Laksa
I first fell in love with this dish at a food court in Kuala Lumpur. Thick rice noodles in a spicy, pungent and creamy broth may sound weird and crazy, but there is so much harmony and depth of flavor in this dish that you’ll keep on sipping and slurping until the very last drop.
3. Traditional Beef Pho
Considered to be one of the best soups in the world, it’s no surprise pho makes it on my list of best Asian noodle dishes. There’s nothing quite as satisfying as a hot, steamy and savory bowl of pho topped with lots of sprouts, fresh mint and basil, rare beef and Thai chilies. GET THE RECIPE
4. Miso Ramen
I love all ramen but I do have a penchant for miso ramen because of its strong umami taste and rich broth. Served with lots of vegetables and a boiled egg, miso ramen hails from the northern region of Hokkaido in Japan. Corn is also often added to the dish to add sweetness and a contrast in texture.
5. Jap Chae
Clear, chewy noodles tossed in sesame oil, sesame seeds, a little sugar and soy sauce and stir fried with loads of vegetables is the way Koreans like to eat their noodles... And most of us will concur that this combination is a pretty amazing one! I eat jap chae hot or cold and with lots of sri racha sauce on top.
6. Vegetable Chow Mein
This is like fast food to me. Cheap and delicious Chinese chow mein noodles stir fried with vegetables is so simple yet so satisfying. I find myself craving Chinese take out at least once a week and whenever I do decide to order, chow mein noodles are always on my list.
7. Tonkotsu Ramen
In the south of Japan where tonkotsu ramen is king. The broth is made with pork bones and simmered for hours until the liquid turns milky white. A rich and savory broth like this is unforgettable and I cannot live more than a few days without it.
8. Omusoba
Another popular bar food in Japan, omusoba is basically yakisoba noodles wrapped in an omelet and topped with a sweet and tangy sauce similar to Worcestershire sauce. This dish is hearty, filling and perfect for sharing with family and friends.
9. Pad Thai
Did you really think I was going to forget about Thailand’s most famous noodle dish? Rice noodles with shrimp, eggs, scallions and chilies, cooked in fish sauce and tamarind juice, topped with peanuts and cilantro... And that final squeeze of fresh lime to round up all these beautiful flavors together. Simply heaven.
10. Mee Goreng
This is a very popular dish in Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. Every vendor and home maker has his or her version of stir frying these yellow noodles. The most popular mee goreng version is spicy, tangy and a little sweet and cooked with chicken or shrimp. Top with a fried egg and you’ll be on cloud nine.
